Indo-Nepal Friendship (ITF) Taekwondo Championship Nepal

A day long Indo-Nepal (ITF) Taekwondo championship has been successfully organized by Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal at 'Chetana Kendra' situated at Kavre district on 27th Dec, 2005. Fifteen participants from Nepal and India participated in the Championship for 5 gold medals.
In the weight category of (35-40) kg male, Abhishek Malla, Sanjeet Shrestha from Nepal , bagged gold medal and silver medal respectively whereas Avhkash Kumar and Bikash Kumar from India won bronze medal. Similarly, in the weight category of(50-55) kg male, Gayaji Khadka and Praveen Khadka of Nepal won gold and silver medals resp. with Gurmeet Singh and Kuldeep of India won the bronze medals. In (55-60)kg male, Jeet Bdr. Lama of Nepal , Darshan Singh of India and in (70-75)kg male, Suresh Shahi of Nepal and Ajeet Kumar Singh of India bagged gold and silver medals respectively. In (50-55) kg female, Pawandeep of India, Sharmila Mahat of Nepal and Birpal Kaur of India won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal was entitled with the 1st position with 4 gold and 3 silver medals whereas Punjab Taekwondo Association got the 2nd position with 1 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals. The championship was inaugurated by chief District officer, Mr. Sambhu Koirala of Kavre and the winners were awarded by their medals and certificates by Chief Instructor and president of Taekwondo, Mr. Laxman Basnet and Mr.Yaduman Shah Chairman of District Development committee of Kavre. The chief district officer conveyed that such championships and seminars build eagerness in players. He also wished good luck to the players of Punjab Taekwondo Association and Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal . The welcome note was delivered by Secretary Mr. Ramraja Dahal of Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal . Similarly, president of Tekwondo(ITF) Nepal , Mr. Basnet in his speech conveyed the future plans and objectives of Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal . He informed that Nepal will be participating in the championship being organized in Colombo , Sri Lanka for the help of tsunami victims in coming 17th-19th march. He also said this championship will provide the players eagerness towards their game. He also said sort of friendship- matches develops good relationship and understandings among Nepali and Indian players. Ajya Kaur, team manager and team coach of Indian team conveyed their appreciation in organizing the friendship match in such a short period of time to Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal.
